vALENTINE'S DAY

OR THE DAY YOU JUST HAVE TO FIND STUFF TO ASK FOR...

I sit here the night before the "international LOVE day" and I've already had to pull the only gift I really wanted from my edit- they sold out of my size! WELL OF COURSE...

So as a Florist- I have complied a list of things that last longer than a week, that I've been eyeing off AND will see me into the next season.

Lets get real

So let's talk about the big elephant in the room, I'm a florist and I'm not asking for florals- to be honest I don't get them anymore- I'm too picky and end up picking it apart and rearranging it to my liking. It's not that I don't love the gesture but I think for the last couple for years its been lost on me. Especially for Valentines day- something me and my Adonis- have never really celebrated (unless you count that awkward jewellery gift when we were around 12/13). This year, post xmas- I've been really delving deep into stopping my need to just buy and fill a void that is obviously weighing heavily on me atm. I've made conscious decisions about things I want.

Need will always be there- so it's about buying without overthinking the "what will they think, is it too much $$, do i look to old, do I really need this... etc"

THE BREAK DOWN

My search for a new flat pony haired leopard print shoe, has been ongoing for the last 4 maybe even 5 years. And yet within one shop- I think I may have found the new "it shoe for 2025" Thankyou Country Rd (obviously NOT sponsored) soft pony hair a print a little darker than I would have liked but softest back leather, so if I want to I can flip them down and inevitably wear them as a slide in!

They are my number ONE request for Vali day.

Lets break it down for you.

• I dont drink coffee- I cant start my day without a pot of tea. I've been drinking tea for so long now and I honestly can attest, T2 is still my favourite go to for my favourite blends; French Earl Grey, Earl Grey and White Monkey Jasmine. So I've asked for my regular refills, and got my Adonis his absolute fav to add to his little Vali Day surprise {Blk Rose}. Yes of course, its no tennis bracelet but to be honest a gift that you actually love is hard to beat.

  For me tea, is almost like a calming ritual in the morning. Between getting everyone breakfast, ensuring the right uniforms are on and lunches are packed. Its my one moment, just for me. It keeps me sane, as well as giving me the punch of caffeine I need.

• When in doubt I more often than not turn to- what's easily available for Adonis to run into Erina fair to pick up, After screen shots have been sent, or A quick Click and Delivered to my door. So that leads me to...

  Dejcuba- Always a FAV. New season, has not disappointed, and to be honest there was so much that I coudl have screen shotted- But Im on time crunch atm- So these are my two picks, The Koko Tshirt Dress and the Nadia Twill Pant in Crimson. Both are on my list for their transitional season ability and also there oversized fit and the colour I'm trying to inject into my wardrobe.

• Adding to my Erina Fair, restricted shopping. I cant stop buying swimmers. But the service and quality at Baku, is really outstanding. I do have to admit, I bought this for myself already. And I'm so happy with them, that I had to include them. The Wild Coast bikini. Is just amazing. The colour combo pops my summer tan, The Mid Pant hides the mum-tum and yet is cut high so gives the illusion of a skinnier silhouette through the thigh and hip area. And the Slide Tri Top, covers but also adds to v-silohette, that brings in the shoulder and thus making me feel more svelte overall in shape. Finding a Swimmer that is flattering these days is a fulltime job, but I think I've hit jackpot with these!

• A Fur Mule, A Fur anything is my jam, I'm currently trying to find fur slides in every colour imaginable! {I'll have to report back how I go} Asos Brown Fur Mule. Although not leather (which normally would be a no) I think I could do just dinners in these and get away with a little pain! there are just to scrumptious not to add to chart.

• A good book - THE SOURCE by Dr Tara Swart. I'm forever on myself discovery and improvement journey and after listening to her as a guest speaker on a podcast, I just found it on my KOBO and added it to be Wishlist. Ill be pressing buy- once Ive finished reading my current book.

• To complete Every outfit, I ALWAYS grab a fabulous pair of shades. If you're looking for style, a reasonable price but with high end lens and overall quality frame. Dont look any further than the amazing Australian owned Rhodin. Alex (designer, owner and gorgeous pup mummy) is a local herself- so you cant really every say no! Don't give it another thought - Get online and order now! I'm loving The Pool range atm. They are stylish, durable and quality- and I've got multiple pairs on rotation!

  
  

TOP TIP

Always try to shop local and support the businesses that are probably run by family's- just like yours

Although today would be one of the busiest days for me as a florist. I'm giving myself the biggest gift and not working Valentines Day this year {sorry FLWRBOMB shoppers}. But I know the importance of supporting your fellow local business.

My Wishlist, from Central Coast- Fashion:

• Bohemian Traders, has done the absolute magical thing and combined a stripe with two of the hottest colours- pink and red. This mini, is amazing, flattering and ahh I need it hanging in my closest this afternoon. How can you go wrong with a mini, that isn't skintight and is just as bright, Stripe Shift Mini Dress.

• Shadow Bang, always has some unique finds, but you've always got to be quick because its beautifully curated looks with limited numbers. Which I love because who wants to show up to lunch, wearing the same outfit as half the other girls around you. They stock some great brands and its the most iconic building in Long Jetty. My top pick is oversized tee's- always! You cant go wrong with their Sabbi- Made me do it Tee.

• Run to the Sun {my old neighbours} are always a go to, for the everyday vibe. They are known for the sets, and cult following - due to their well priced inclusive sized and colourful apparel. I'm adding to the cart- as I type, The Leopard Maxi Skirt. Mesh/ see-through long, leopard print- its got to be in my wardrobe. I've already put together 3 outfits in my head! Yep, that'll be a self Valentine's Day gift! Thankyou

• Ellery and Moss, stock so many luxe brands, but I'm sorry My draw dropped when I saw these babies.

Ellery & Moss, Hael & Jacks Goya in Pewter

HOW can I not buy these babies, the colour the oversized buckles the manageable heel! (Im in my "trying not to wear flats all the time era"). Are they not absolutely amazing, Ill be pushing for breakfast at Terrigal tomorrow, so I can slide into store and get my feet into these babies!

Ellery and Moss, also had a few amazing dresses, which happened to be on sale- that caught my eye aswell. And I have wedding coming up, so I know tomorrow breakfast/ shopping escapde will inevitably end in me walking out with a bag or two. Date night calls of colour and bit of sexy and when it comes with an interesting pattern- you've sold me. The Romy the Brand, Retro Mesh Maxi is the answer. And that perfect wedding outfit {which I surely envision another post coming}, I'll be starting with Mossman's, Enchant Maxi dress. Stunning silhouette, perfect for hiding all those mummy fabulous lumps and bumps, but elevated and chic!

• Interior Wise, East Gosford's shinning star treasure trove. I've been popping in for years, always testing my luck as to what I may need or just to add that little pop. Always unique and one off pieces. Ive got my eye on this beautiful Antique Mirrored Consol, all that's left is to measure my space- because I KNOW the look is on point! They also have a gorgeous black and white Hydrangea framed Print, that I think would work beautifully in my office.
